Episode #213 - Roever Foundation

October 16, 2012

Tonight on You Served Radio, we will welcome Dave Roever of Roever Foundation. We'll also be joined by Toby Nunn as special guest co-host. The Roever Foundation has a long and exciting history in support of public education, the US military, assistance to wounded warriors, and tours in military war zones, with public speaking opportunities engaging the troops with a message of hope. Additionally, the Roever Foundation has provided thousands of scholarships to students primarily in Vietnam, but also to students in secondary education seeking degrees in a variety of subjects. These include foreign students as well as domestic. The Roever Foundation prides itself especially in development of facilities; such as a cardiac care unit in one of Vietnam’s largest hospitals, and medical teams supplying AIDS testing units for orphanages and public schools in Vietnam.  The Roever Foundation built and has operated, since 2000, the cardiac care unit, a Toshiba Digital Imaging Catheterization Lab, saving the lives of hundreds of Vietnamese people at no cost to them. Along with that was built a 36-bed heart monitoring system in Saigon. Cataract surgery has been provided for hundreds of Vietnamese children, giving them instantaneous vision in our 20/20 project. We have provided clothing for approximately two million children in Vietnam. Roever Foundation has supplied extensive amounts of wheelchairs, bicycles, medicine, boats and motors to the Red Cross in Vietnam.   The Roever Foundation has continued in this effort for many years, including countries such as El Salvador and Mexico, with medical and dental support for the underprivileged.   The Roever Foundation has supported the efforts in public school assemblies in a like manner as military tours with inspirational speaking to over seven million students in thirty years.
