“New Mercies Every Morning” – Piano Instrumental for Prayer, Meditation, & Relaxation

Thank you for listening to Episode #125 of the Worship Interludes Podcast, entitled “New Mercies Every Morning”. I often create these interludes based on some inspiring Scripture or conversation I may have with friends. I was in a conversation with a friend a couple of days ago who was asking for prayers for his business. It was a stressful time and I could sense the worry that he was feeling.

A little while later I found myself reading my Bible during my morning devotion. My daily reading plan happened to direct me to the following passage:

If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.Leviticus 26: 3-5 (NKJV)

This passage immediately made me think of my friend and I encouraged him with this Scripture. It’s a challenge from God to keep His law and the blessings that He will bestow upon us when we do. I do realize this is an Old Testament passage and that as New Testament believers, are right-standing with God is not based on how well we keep the Law. At the same time, I know that God does bless us when we are obedient, in much the same way I bless my own children as their earthly Father.

His response to me was the reminder that God’s mercy is great. I agree wholeheartedly and remembered this well-known passage:

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.Lamentations 3: 22-23 (ESV)

As I recorded this interlude I was meditating on the goodness of God, His faithfulness, and the fact that His mercies are brand new for us every single day. I chose the cover image for this interlude to be a road with the sun coming up. It represents a new day dawning on our path – and the assurance that his mercies are brand new.

I hope you enjoy listening – please comment and let me know you are listening.
