Israel Contending with the LORD in Deliverance
Israel, her own people; proved to be their own worst enemy. Israel out of bondage, yet flesh and carnal minds bound by years of Egyptian influence had to be removed. As in all of us, the world and the flesh must go.
Lord led Israel the “longer way around”, lest Israel “i.e. the people change their minds” when faced with war. It was imperative to the Lord to get Israel out! Israel did not have this same idea in regard to this, for many times they wanted to go back to Egypt.
Israel in typical fashion today exemplifies many Christians and churches. So too, with Israel coming out of Egypt, Egypt had to be removed from Israel. This was the task; the Lord was going to do. It would be Moses that would face Israel down in many different troubles that faced these people who came out of Egypt. We can find Christians who have come out of the world, type Egypt here; that must have the world removed from their hearts. Christians who follow the Lord and in many ways find the same troubles Israel did. Yet, we also find Churches today who are in the world, again type Egypt here; and the world is in the Church. There are many things to be learned from Israel and her examples. There are many things of spiritual and redemptive qualities for us today. Sadly many today ignore these things. Join us in this is journey where Israel who is want to be delivered, find herself at the reigns of a God who will remove them from Egypt and also their sins will he deal with. Israel is the people who contended with the Lord in their own deliverance. As with Israel, here we find Christians and Churches today contending with the Lord and yet many do not realize it.
