AA 12 x 12 Step 6: ‘Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.’

Page 65 from start of second paragraph: ‘If we ask, God will certainly forgive our derelictions…’ until end of first paragraph page 67: ‘…imaginary sex excursions are apt to be all dressed up as dreams of romance.’

Last week we found our character defects (from step four) and wrote the opposite assets on 3 x 5 cards looking up the dictionary definition. Every day take a card to work on. Say today it is Humility.. So in Quiet Time ask God what it looks like to have humility. Then write an action plan around your day remembering that it is humility you are asking God to help you with today. This is how we are going to be working steps six and seven: as a half-full glass.

Q1. How many of us have this degree of readiness? You can write about this or say: ‘I am ready, bring it on.’

“No, I cannot give this up yet.”
Q2a). Write on what this means and why you saying it.
b) Change the ‘cannot’ to ‘won’t’. Are you ready to say: I won’t give this up yet?
And pray for the willingness to be willing? Write about that.

3. Write on where you have seen the Grace of God working in your life this past week?
Then bring that in thanksgiving to your Quiet Time.

Q4. Do you have the gift of desperation around your character defects?

Q5. How many of us speak love with our lips, and believe what we say so that we can hide lust in dark corner of our minds? Write on this.
