This last trip to Las Vegas brought me to the Aria Hotel and Convention Center. I stayed in the Deluxe room, a 520 sq. foot room with King bed. The hotel opened in 2009 with 4004 guest rooms and 568 suites. The casino brings over 150,000 square feet of games and includes a 24-table Poker room and high-limit room.

The view of the 24th floor was amazing, even though it wasn't strip-side. I was able to not only get to the convention center pretty easy, I could also access the spa and pools without having to go through the smokey Casino. There is even a "Game Room" which features XBox and PS4 gaming for $12/hour.

The Deluxe guest room itself was a little worn. My privacy (do not disturb) button did not work, which they had maintenance come up to repair. My mini-bar area was not re-stocked when I got into the room - the salsa looked like it was opened and put back as a hair was hanging from it.

Aria boasts a lot of technology in this hotel. The TV remote and a side dock panel by the bed allowed you to change the room temperature, TV guide, lights and even opening and closing of the curtains. However, the button system was slow to respond to commands.

By the TV was a control panel to plug media devices into for charging or for displaying on the large screen. I didn't care for the desk being so close to the screen, but didn't really use it for anything more than charging or checking email.

Best part was you had options for the TV. Usually I am used to Vegas strip TV being 10 channels of hotel attractions and 8 network or cable channels (mostly sports channels). Yet I was able to watch some of my evening shows when I was in the room getting ready for the next adventure.

Their in-room WiFi was more than adequate. I was getting upload and download speeds over 10 MB for the standard connection (you can also get the high-speed option). I uploaded YouTube videos within seconds.

The bathroom contained a closed-door toilet, two sinks and a shower/bath combo. Opening the door, you have to walk through the shower to get to the tub. There were many places to sit while showering, which is pretty nice.

The Bathroom also had vanity mirror, hair drier, vanity care package (q-tips, makeup pads, etc) and a scale. Two robes and plenty of towels for your convenience.

The King bed was comfortable with enough comfortable pillows to keep me sleeping. The next-to-bed phone and control panel were nice, but stayed illuminated during the evening. I had to cover the screens so I could get a dark room.

I got to also enjoy some of the extras on this trip. The multiple pools and spas in the general area gave me choices on where to sunbathe. I spent time in the spa as well - a $35/day option which gave me access to private spa tubs, sauna, hot stone beds, Shio salt room and the infinity pool, which I spent a lot of time in.

Overall, this was a decent room, minus the lack of cleaning. With one-click on/off options, I didn't have to run around the room when it was time to go to bed. The comfortable beds and lots of amenities really made the experience.
