New Energy in the Fitbit Blaze with FitStar

January 25, 2016

At CES I got to check out the Fitbit Blaze smartwatch / fitness tracker. This is the first device by Fitbit to be more of a fashion statement over a health wearable. This takes Fitbit into new realms of possibilites.

Similar looks to the Fitbit Surge or even an Apple Watch, the Blaze is a square device with modular bands to swap out at a moments notice. Including the FitStar software - a company acquisition Fitbit made back in March 2015 - the device can now craft custom exercise programs based on user's body data. This turns the blaze into a more tuned personal trainer.

The watch itself is a 1.66 inch 240x180 color touchscreen with Gorrila Glass 3 on the face. The watch works on iOS, Android and Windows 10 mobile devices.

To change out the band, simply detach the Fitbit from the back of the holster . Colors available include black, blue, plum, stainless steel link and Camel brown or Mist Leather.

The Fitbit Blaze is $199 and available now. Band replacements range from $29.95 - $129.95
