Let's get started today with the podcast episode.
Today we're talking about calling and business, your calling, and your business. And this is something that I know a lot about because I used to struggle with that. You let me know if this is something that you used to struggle with, or you still struggle with today.
Often times we feel that we have to choose one or the other, “Oh my God, I have to be all about the business, and I cannot mix my faith with my business.” Actually, one of my first coaches told me that, “Catherine, I can tell that you feel very strongly about this faith thing, but you might want to tone down that Jesus talk and you might have to, you might not want to tell people that you're a Christian. Like just keep it on the down low and it just didn't feel right, but I didn't know how to, how to successfully incorporate my business and my ministry.
I'm just straight talk. I'm telling you what happened. So, for years I had this dance where I will be too churchy, too Christian, if you will, or too businessy and I couldn't figure it out how to put them together. Like I struggle and I didn't have any leaders in my life at the time that could model it for me or even help me in my quest to be a kingdompreneur. I just didn't have that and eventually, I just went to God and said, “Listen, I need help. Can you send me somebody, anybody that can help me match this thing, marry this thing?”
Because my heart's desire is that I can be authentic. I don't have to hit people over the head with my faith. I don't have to be churchy, but I want to be authentic. I want to be the type of person that when you meet me, you're like, “Oh my God, you sound exactly the same. You look exactly the same. You talk exactly the same because it’s real because it is authentic.”
Does that make sense? So, you know what God said, He dropped it in my spirit, and I was not happy about this. But this is the way God works. He said, “I'm going to teach you so you can teach other people.” I was like, “Come on!” I was waiting for somebody else to show me. But you know, this is how He rolls, this is what we're going to do.
And that's how the book A Match Made in Heaven: How to Marry.
