Marriage. Marriage is what brings us together today.

Today we wrap up the Holy Orders summary and jump into the sacrament of marriage.

The vocation to marriage is written in the very nature of man and woman, and, like the Trinitarian love of God, the love in a marriage is fruitful!

"Marriage helps to overcome self-absorption, egoism, pursuit of one's own pleasure, and to open oneself to the other, to mutual aid and to self-giving." -CCC 1609 (maybe we should put that in the vows!)

Jesus' presence at the wedding at Cana is the confirmation of the goodness of marriage and it proclaims that marriage will be an efficacious sign of Christ's presence.

Marriage isn't for everyone. From the beginning of the Church, men and women have renounced the great good of marriage to follow Jesus. Certain persons are invited to follow Him in this way of life of which he remains the model. Virginity for the sake of the Kingdom.

You should go to confession before you get married. Try it, you'll like it!

Then we talk about 3 types of marriage.

Between two Catholics
Between a Catholic and baptized, non-Catholic (mixed marriage)
Between a Catholic and a non-Christian (Disparity of cult)

And for more info on annulments and divorce, you are going to have to listen to the podcast... or Read the Cat!
