1:30 pm — Ask Dr. Burtch: Feline Heart Problems

February 17, 2019

Dr. Merrianne Burtch, Birchbark Foundation and Pacific Veterinary Specialists

Because of last week's technical problems, this segment did not run at 1:30 as scheduled. We've given the equipment a stern look and have been assured everything will be fine this week.

Dr. Merrianne Burtch discusses feline heart disease, a very serious if uncommon condition in pet cats.

Note the new location for Pacific Veterinary Specialists + Emergency Service: 2585 Soquel Drive, Capitola CA.

Dr. Burtch received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis in 1993. She completed an internship at Santa Cruz Veterinary Hospital in 1994. In 1996 she completed an ACVIM SAIM approved residency in internal medicine at the same facility, which included out-rotations at UC Davis. She became board certified in internal medicine in 1999. Dr. Burtch’s special interests include diabetes mellitus, gastroenterology and liver disease.

She is also founder of Birchbark Foundation which provides emergency financial support for pets in need.
