Childhood Trauma – OHS 115

July 31, 2019

Life as a child with one hand can be very traumatic. But not as traumatic as going to the dentist!! Yes, this podcast is about the childhood trauma I have as a result of going to the dentist.  have dealt with some harsh and extreme experiences as a child with one hand. Playing sports and dealing with some narrow minded coaches left a mark on my personality. Even as a teenager trying to get work was a challenge. As much as you might think this podcast is about all the one-handed stuff that had the potential to scare my life, it is not. It is about the childhood trauma of going to the dentist.

Last week I went to the dentist to get some work done. I was amazed at how easily I regressed right into that little traumatized child as a 50 year old adult. Then I contemplated why this dental trauma is more profound in my life than living my entire life with one hand. Why was I able to overcome my one-handed trauma but unable to transform this dental trauma? Then I had to take a good look at myself. This podcast is simply about my childhood trauma.

Thanks for listening! I invite you to share this podcast, offer a comment or leave some feedback.
