Episode 15 - John Kilzer

John Kilzer is a singer songwriter from Jackson, Tennessee. He began playing guitar in college at Memphis State, where he was a member of the basketball team. His first real guitar lessons were by Teenie Hodges,  Al Green’s guitar player.  He later taught English at Memphis State before signing in 1986 to Keith Sykes’ publishing company. Sykes later helped Kilzer land a record deal with Geffen. John has released three albums: Memory in the Making (1988),  Busman’s Holiday (1991) and Seven (2011).
