ABOUT OUR FEATURED GUEST:

Brian Foo is a web developer and artist at NYPL Labs, The New York Public Library’s digital innovation unit. His work focuses on multimedia interaction and data visualization including the library’s Digital Collections website and Community Oral History Project which aims to document the rich history of the city’s unique neighborhoods by collecting the stories of people who have experienced it firsthand. He designed the interface for Navigating the Green Book, an interactive map that explores the Green Book, a travel guide published between 1936 and 1966 that listed hotels, restaurants, bars, and gas stations where Black travelers would be welcome.
