Shirts v. Skins: A Sports Show. (AFC West preview/LGBTQ pity party)

July 24, 2016

AFC West preview. With Peyton Manning retiring, the Broncos don't have a lot of options at QB. Can the Broncos still be SB contenders without the game's most important position? The Chiefs won 10 straight last year, but finished the regular season 1-5. They did win their first playoff game since '93-'94, though, so there's that. Only problem? Injuries and departures. Justin Houston had ACL surgery in February, so he's going to miss some time, along with Tamba Hali. And Eric Berry is being reluctant to sign his franchise tender. Not good. What is good? The optimism surrounding the Raiders. Derek Carr looks to explode, and Amari Cooper with help him to do just that. Defensively, Khalil Mack is a wrecking ball, and they gave him help with the signing of Bruce Irvin, Reggie Nelson, Sean Smith, and drafting SS Karl Joseph. The Chargers are the wild-card. Philip Rivers is one of the game's best, but he needs a running game to support his greatness. Melvin Gordon was a disappointment his rookie season, failing to get into the end zone, or get a 100 yd game. Defensively, they're run D sucked, so they drafted Joey Bosa 3rd overall to help with that. Only problem? Bosa isn't signed yet. Also, Denny Green passes. As a Vikings fan, there's plenty of memories that one of the best coaches in football left on me. R.I.P. Denny. And the NBA pulls the All-star game outta Charlotte amid discrimination concerns. My reaction alone may be worth tuning in.
