Dad Vigil, Day Six: Surgery on the spinal abscess has been deferred until a reassessment has been done late Sunday afternoon, balancing on the conundrum of the pros (removing the abscess that's pressing on the spinal cord and causing back pain and leg weakness) and cons (the stress of surgery on an Octagenarian patient).  You could say the situation is in a "holding" pattern, which is explosively appropriate given the enema my father is under, um, "going" as we speak.

But once the tough get going, it feels soooooooo good.  And there aren't many men tougher than dear old Dad.

So after a visit to the rest room, climb back into the Wayback Machine as we continue our downtime temporal displacement.  The Hawking radiation keeps me regular.
