PODCAST SCRIPT:

I remember when kids in grade school told brazen lies… but felt no guilt because their fingers were crossed behind their backs!

Our kids may not be crossing their fingers… but they’re still telling lies.  The statistics are overwhelming.  More teens than ever feel the freedom to cheat, tell white lies and alter the truth with fiction.  Moms and Dads … we need to help our kids develop the virtue of honesty.

My advice is this:  don’t tolerate lying!  When you discover that your child isn’t telling the truth… don’t explain it away or dodge the confrontation.

Call out the lie.  Bring it in to the light of day.  Give an appropriate consequence.  In doing so, you will forge a strong sense of courage and honesty in your child.  One day … he’ll thank you.
