What We Did This Week

Allona

Miscellaneous PvP, Temple runs, World boss run etc. All fun!
I did my homework! On Monday I found a havoc group mostly from Helioz running around the Jade Quarry borderland. With their permission, I popped into their guild voice chat on TC’s mumble server to stay informed. I went in with my ranger who hasn’t been into WvW hardly at all, and I was new to havoc. Honestly, it was my favourite time I’ve ever had in WvW! Many thanks to Commander Lubefield and the rest of the havoc group, they were great to run with!
Guild missions with Maven. I was in the single digits for the guild rush! Single digits! I beat Hunter!
After guild missions went into PvP with an all ranger team. It was super trolly and hella fun!

Celeste

PvP friday morning? Did we do that this week? ((don’t remember))
Guildie, Mourning, showed me how to do the North Hills Defense portion of Tequatl so I can add that to my weird list of GW2 abilities
Rinse, Repeat: World Boss, Dailies, Laurels and Money to T6 mats

Down to the estimated cost being under 120G if I bought everything outright. PROGRESS! Only need to finish off 2 stacks of mats (claws and blood) and about 180 ecto

Livestreaming Wednesday’s at 9:30pm EST/6:30pm PST at twitch.tv/mmoreporter.

Making the Most of Maguuma - Scott McGough
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/gameplay-features-making-the-most-of-maguuma/

“Gameplay, story, and the terrain itself were all conceived, fleshed out, and woven together to create a unified and immersive world that hooks players and keeps them hooked. Under the steady hands of Matt Wuerffel and Jon Peters, the Heart of Thorns team collaborated, iterated, and executed on a series of features and themes that deliver our most satisfying and comprehensive gaming experience to date.â€

“For example, in Verdant Brink—the first map players encounter once they enter the Heart of Thorns—the wreckage of the Pact fleet serves as both terrain and a character, defining what sorts of activities and encounters players will find there.â€

C: I really like the idea of having an area be a character as well and I hadn’t thought of the meta event taking this sort of turn. It’s a pleasant surprise.

Repeatable story instances

explore different story branches with the same character without having to use an alt or you can replay it on alts to get a new experience because of different story experiences for different races

Still no real word on if your first choice will be a “permanent†one for your story journal or if it will have repercussions later on in the storyline.
Important side NPCs will be present through both the instances and open world experience of Maguuma

C: Super big improvement to the personal story. I felt like the only NPC I ever cared about was Tybalt and now I hope to form a better relationship with other interesting and well-crafted characters.

Hard mode achievements will be making a comeback

A: If they have challenge motes I am totally down for this!

Player characters are speaking again but in new and different ways

“They can have these exchanges while in motion or even in combat. Best of all, we are also now able to give each race their own distinct lines so that norn, sylvari, asura, human, and charr characters can speak like actual members of the unique cultures and societies from which they hail.â€
