The 7 Graces Hour with Lynn Serafinn

Ep193- Stories for Changing the World with Rivera Sun

May 29, 2013

Bestselling author, marketing consultant and social reformer Lynn Serafinn hosts author and actress, Rivera Sun.   Rivera Sun went to Bennington College, VT, USA to study writing as a Harcourt Scholar and graduated with a degree in dance.  She founded the nationally touring Rising Sun Dance & Theater company in 2010, and performs a series of solo shows she wrote entitled The Freedom Stories of Lala.     Rivera Sun grew up on an organic farm and in the course of her thirty-year life has witnessed, firsthand, the effects of global warming on the planet.  She believes climate change is humanity's ultimatum for social transformation, and her novel inspires the reader toward engaging in this shift. Her latest book, Steam Drills, Treadmills, and Shooting Stars, celebrates everyday heroes who meet the challenges of climate change with compassion, spirit and strength, transforming suffering and creating healthy, peaceful, sustainable societies.   In Rivera's words' "I choose to 'occupy literature' with my heart and spirit, telling stories that can liberate us from destructive patterns and awaken us to our highest potential as human beings in an interconnected world". Tune in as Rivera and Lynn discuss the powerful potential for social change hiding within literature - and every aspect of life!   As usual, at the end of the show, Lynn and her guest will play the '7 Graces Lightning Round' when, in less than 3 minutes, our guests will show how each of the 7 Graces relates to everything discussed during the show.
