When Russ Pitts asked, "Why would you want to interview me?", it came as a bit of a surprise. Who wouldn't want to interview Russ Pitts, a gaming industry staple who's helped change the landscape of games journalism? Between his co-founding the one-and-only Polygon.com, and oh, by the way, help co-found a pretty amazing charity dealing with mental health issues, Take This, Russ has been hooking and jabbing in video games for some time now. However, his recent departure from Polygon to start his own media firm, Flying Saucer, to help launch Rock Band 4 was a definite departure from what I was expecting from when I sat down with him!
