Saint Anne Feast Day 2015 traditional #catholic

July 30, 2015

Traditional Catholic High Mass
Just a quick note to share our experience at our parish recently. Traditional Catholics believe that Mary’s (mother of Jesus) mother was named Anne. No, Anne was not mentioned in the Holy Bible, but it is one of the “traditions” of the early church that her name was Anne. When you think on what type of parents that Mary, who raised Jesus must have had, they must have been very faithful and strong people. Mary was a very holy and strong Christian woman, and thus her parents must have raised her very close to the faith. Remember the Jewish rulers at the time killed every male boy to try to kill Jesus. Imagine your daughter dealing with that. People are hunting her to the point that they are killing every male child born near your due date.  Think of her fleeing her town with no expanded family or friends, imagine her giving birth in a barn.  To raise such a child suggest that Mary’s parents were very holy.

There are so many good examples of Mary, and thus you ponder who her parents must have been like. We have a many extraordinary, exemplary Christians in traditional Catholicism. Each of them is honored on their feast day. These photos are from Saint Anne’s feast day. I thought they were beautiful.  The most important thing is to bring the youth up in orthodox Christianity.  As the culture becomes more hostile we must become more like “…pistol packing Amish…” as independent of this post Christian culture and post Constitutional system as possible. Sorry, the movie with sound below is not longer I can’t get more than 5 MB of my phone right now.  I just wanted to give you a taste of what a traditional Catholic High Mass sounds like with Gregorian Chant.  It makes many women cry.  It is very beautiful, it is as if it … calms some savage beast inside of me.
From Wikipedia; “Saint Anne (also known as Ann or Anna or Anne Elizabeth, from Hebrew Hannah חַנָּה, meaning “favor” or “grace”) of David’s house and line, was the mother of the Virgin Mary and grandmother of Jesus Christ, according to Christian tradition. Mary’s mother is not named in the canonical gospels. Anne’s name and that of her husband Joachim come only from New Testament Apocrypha, of which the Protoevangelium of James (written perhaps around 150) seems to be the earliest that mentions them.”
