260 – Pig Iron

June 23, 2015

Booked reviews Pig Iron by David James Keaton. With David James Keaton. In what has become a tradition, David joined us this episode to talk through his latest book, a weird western about a town with no water, where the horses are hated and the guns explode in your hands. Where the spiders are imaginary and the eggs are filled with venom. Where the preachers are fake but the whiskey is real. And the whole damn town is a whiskey-soaked outlaw away from absolute combustion. David helped us navigate the book with his insights, confirming suspicions, clarifying details, and never really getting around to what the hell he means by "illusive".

Stick around after the review to hear us talk about our next review (our sixth consecutive book review episode, maybe a new record!) - Grey by EL James. Robb has gotten a jump on the first chapter, and we're already thinking that gray is the appropriate color for this review. Come back next week for that conversation, where Good Sex, Great Prayers author Brandon Tietz, aka Livius' little brother, joins us to talk about spanking and stuff. Don't miss it.
