In this episode we explore one of the most controversial American songs, the unofficial anthem of the Confederate States of America, 'Dixie'.  This enduring song continues to be performed in a variety of contexts today, but in this study we will examine the original white supremacist, pro-slavery meaning of the song's lyrics as well as reflecting upon what that may or may not imply about modern performances of this music.
