"Bess the Book Bus, Inc. is a mobile literacy outreach founded in 2002 in honor of my Nana, Bess O'Keefe. Bess, nicknamed Nana Bus, taught me the joy of reading. Every weekend we would walk into town where I was able to choose a new book. I could not wait to get home and have her read to me. Nana Bus opened a new world for me every time she opened a book and started to read.  Bess the Book Bus was founded on one simple premise - bring that same joy of reading to children everywhere. From humble beginnings with a Volkswagen Van, she now does many visits nationwide and gives tens of thousands of books to children of all ages." ~Jennifer Frances, Founder 

Bess the Book Bus is dedicated to reading to children, promoting literacy, and getting books in to the homes of underprivileged children and families across the country. The 2015 Transitions Success is in Sight tour will serve 25,000+ kids in more than 35 states. They hope to give away 100,000 new books. Bess’ kids will also have access to free comprehensive eye exams and free glasses fitted with Transitions Lenses thanks to their partners at Transitions.

Bess the Book Bus is currently competing in the 2015 Safety Harbor Downtown Business Alliance, Inc. Charity Fundraising Challenge in the 'National / State' Category to raise funds to be able to offer even more services to children across the country.
