To Axanar with Alec Peters

May 19, 2014

Still lagging from real life, we managed to snag another interview this week, which should delight your ears and make you want to torrent a copy of the old FASA Star Trek RPG (unless you’re geeky enough to still have your old copy from the 80′s (as the PseudoKiwi does)).

We’re talking with the writer, producer, and one of the stars of the short (currently in post-production) Star Trek: Prelude to Axanar, as well as the subsequent feature Star Trek: Axanar, Alec Peters. He shares where the story came from, how the kickstarter exploded, and what we can expect to see from a cast packed with sci-fi veterans.

The story centers around the titular battle of the Federation’s war with the Klingons and the rise of Federation legend Garth of Izar (played by Peters), remembered in Star Trek canon from the TOS episode “Whom Gods Destroy”.

AND NOW, THE NEWS:

We have added a new member to the 3×2 family, and no one got laid or squoze out an ass-spawn to do it. And that new member is Alex Napier, who has joined our website team to produce video game reviews and whatever else he feels like (he shot out two posts today while this podcast was languishing in edit hell). And he may join us for an episode or two. Especially if we are feeling run down and out of it (and don’t want to resort to the classic season 6 theme of unending dick jokes).

TODAY’S TOPIC: The Alec Peters Interview

  1. 1. We start out talking about how the story of the Battle of Axanar formed inside Alec’s head, and how that translated to a script, and then into what will be

  1. 3. We talk about a few of the specific scenes and shots we’ll see in the flick. We also get a tentative release date: July 2014, in time for San Diego ComiCon. The only downside to this? We’ll be salivating to see the feature film even more afterwards….
