A writer of poetry, prose, essays, creative-nonfiction, Ali Alizadeh has published multiple books and taught writing in universities across the world. His previous work, Ashes in the Air, was shortlisted for the Prime minister’s Literary Awards for poetry and his new work, part of UQP’s Short Fiction Series, is Transactions.

The book is composed of short vignettes that slowly build into a view of a world connected by people across national boundaries and across class. Where morality can be blurry and provocative topics are simply part of everyday life. Ali joins Sky Kirkham to discuss serial killers, injustice and writing for yourself.
