• Sunday’s OPEN BUDDY GROUP 11a-12n
is Struggling to stay alive & its # is:
(712) 432-0800  pin 587213#
You come with your written answers & word definitions.
There is 1 facilitator (that rotates over the weeks) & group goes round-robin reading the questions & answers.
It opens with the 3rd-step prayer & closes w/the Serenity prayer.
And, the only appropriate comment (by the facilitator) at the end of each person’s share of his/her Soul work is: “Thank you for sharing”.

Buddy Group Coordinator Marie: EST  857  212 2916.
Marie will help you get a buddy along with a buddy group. Also for those who want a
Big Book step study group answering the questions from an Al-Anon perspective.  Also if you want to start an alcohol, food, etc., focus study group. It will be preferable if you get your own telephone number for the group.

Re. placing humility before intellect:
You cannot be too stupid to get sober, but you can be too smart.
God gave us brains so that He could use them.

Soul work

This phony form of respectability was our undoing, so far as faith was concerned.
look up phony, respectability.

By their example they showed us that humility and intellect could be compatible, provided we placed humility first.  When we were able to do that, we received the gift of faith a faith which works. This faith is for you, too.

Q1a) Using your own experience, write a summary of what the above words mean.
b) Give two examples from your life when you have placed humility first.

Q2a) What does receiving the gift of faith mean to you – a white light experience?

  1. Does it mean you want to do your Quiet Time?
  2. Does it mean when you walk near the street of addiction, you will ask God for help?

Q3. This faith is for you too.

  1. What do you think about that?
  2. Do you think that everybody is able to get faith?
  3. How would you talk to someone who is totally clueless, about your faith and how you use it in recovery?

Q4. Take this entire paragraph and dissect it sentence by sentence.
