Everyone loves a comedian, but does a comedian need to be lovable?  This week we debate if comedy characters need to be good people in order to make us laugh. likable

Can a comedy character ever be truly evil?  Are shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm and Arrested Development changing the the rules of comedy or just following in the footsteps of shows from the past?  Why does Dan find Hitler so darn funny?  (don’t worry, he still hates him for all the awful things he did.  But he is kind of silly.  You have to admit.)  We welcome always lovable stand up comedian and film maker Barry Rothbart as our guest.  You can check him out at therealbarry.com.
