To go along with my recent pick of Growing, here is a random sample of some bands that I would discribe as manic/happy/soft noise which is a style i really enjoy.  I am a positive person at heart and I like the bands that sound like they could be played in a large, sun drenched, field and their tension comes from that feeling of being a little too happy.  I also tried to stay away from some of the larger names in this style (eg Boredoms, Animal Collective, Fennesz) and I realize I left some big ones out (eg Astral Social Club, VIbracathedral Orchestra, Ashtray Navagations), but I think its a good overview.   Also this mix shows my love of noisy/droney stuff when it has some sort of percussive element tying it down to the terra-firma.
