With a 38-0 win over Wake Forest on Senior Day, coupled with losses by Kansas State and Oregon, Notre Dame finds itself at the peak of the college football landscape. Feels like forever ago since we've been able to utter that phrase. 19 long years folks. 1993 was the last time that the #1 sign above Grace Hall was lit up for football. Hard to believe that the College Football Hall of Fame, located in South Bend, has never hoisted the Notre Dame helmet into the #1 ranking. The building opened in 1995. Count 'em, 19 years. I was in 7th grade the last time Notre Dame was #1. How about being the first team in NCAA/BCS history to be #1 in the BCS rankings and #1 in graduation rates. So I guess you can win at Notre Dame and graduate your players after all. The Irish are on the doorstep, inching one step closer to becoming Notre Dame legends.
