Marina Lenderman is an experienced psychotherapist providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families in New York City. Marina specializes in helping patients cope with life transitions such as relationship stressors, bereavement, caregiver burnout and management of chronic illness. While working at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Marina trained in family and couples therapy through the Family Therapy Clinic, bereavement group facilitation and caregiver group facilitation. Marina is fluent in Russian and has offered both group and individual therapy to Russian-speaking patients. Marina received her graduate degree from Columbia University School of Social Work and post graduate training at NYU Psychoanalytic Institute. She has been published in the Annals of Behavioral Medicine on the subject of caregiver needs and feasibility of longitudinal research. Marina has presented at the Association of Oncology Social Workers on the topics of psychosocial needs of Russian-speaking patients, working with transference in time- limited bereavement group and the psychosocial needs of caregivers of lung cancer patients. In June 2012, Marina presented at the Institute for Patient and Family Centered Care on the development of patient safety rounds at MSKCC.
