Brain-frying beats for Frankfurt, Songs for Sheds, and vids for gigs |

L R L R L R hit hit L R L RL RR hit hit… Yep… I’m still here where you left me last week, practising my brain-frying beats! lol Thankfully, they’re starting to come together nicely, which is just as well as I’ll be playing them in Frankfurt next Wednesday (April 6)! I did take a miniature break from beat practise to do a couple of gigs over the weekend. Both were lots of fun and as you may have noticed lately I’m well into making random videos, lol. So if you fancy taking a look at my latest offering here it is: Talking of videos, you may remember a little while back that Chris (Woods) and I visited a shed in Clevedon (no, this is not how it might sound…) to play a few tunes for a very nice man who runs a website called Songs from the Shed. Basically various artists and bands visit his shed and play some songs which he then uploads to his lovely website (kinda like Balcony TV, except it’s in a shed…). But yesterday was very exciting indeed as he had just uploaded all four vids from our visit back in January (yay!). Here’s a couple to check out, but if you fancy taking a look at all four they are on the Songs from the Shed homepage This week I’ve also been trying desperatly to finished off a couple of songs that seem to be becoming a bit of a mission to get finalised (I hate it when that happens). It also seems that inspiration is springing to me at the most inconvenint moments, such as right out in the middle of nowhere on a dog walk or when I’m just about to drift of to sleep… or even worse when I’m driving. So I’m trying to keep myself armed to the teeth at all times with pens, paper and also my dictaphone *just in case* inspiration decides to do its thing. A couple of days ago I was driving somewhere and I suddenly came up with the perfect middle 8 for one of my songs and do you think could I find anything to write on? (no, lol). I couldn’t bare the thought of loosing this amazing middle 8, so I had to resort to scribbling all over my MOT certificate as it was all I could find (oops) so hopefully no-one will need to see it between now and when it needs to be re-newed! Amy Chudley has done a fantastic job finishing off all the artwork for the cover and it does look mighty fine indeed, can’t wait for it to all be put together. So anyways I’ve got a ton of emailing, practising, packing, organising and other bits and bobs to be getting on with. The next time I write it’ll be all about Frankfurt Musikmesse (woohoo!) and don’t forget to come and say hi if you’re planning on going to the show!
