There’s no need to ban Christmas! After a Welsh NHS trust has been moaning about the ‘relevance’ of the Christmas to ‘some faiths’, Equality South West says we can all have a good time rockin’ round the Christmas tree, whatever faith

Equality South West – the region’s leading equality and human rights body – has been wishing everyone a Happy Christmas and New Year. And if those arbiters of all things that are ‘right on’ say it’s ok to celebrate Christmas, then it jolly well is. Quick, get the Nativity Scene out of the priest hole!

Following reports that nurses at a Welsh NHS trust had been told their Christmas party would be cancelled this year due to a mix of economic concerns and questions over the ‘relevance’ of the celebration to ‘some faiths’, Equality South West says there is no need to ban Christmas for fear of offending non-Christians.

Paul told the PRSD: “Christmas is an important part of our history and our culture and something everyone can enjoy. We should celebrate the fact that this is a time when people can think about families and friends and not worry about work for a few days.”

And to reinforce the non-denominational nature of Christmas, here’s Sarah Silverman:
