Teignbridge film explains issues facing Dawlish |
|
Dawlish is a Neighbourhood Planning Front runner, admittedly we don’t actually know what that means, but there are just 17 of them in the country. Teignbridge council has put together a short film about some of the issues facing the town in its preparation for the Neighbourhood Plan. It’s a familiar story for South Devon – an ageing population, coupled with lack of affordable housing and a dearth of jobs. But if there’s anything to warm the heart, it’s the three young couples visiting their new shared ownership homes in Dawlish, or the optimism of the Red House student. Ok, so there aren’t enough new housing projects that reflect wages in the area and there may not be enough jobs, but we’re willing to take any sniff of goof fortune and run with it. Watch the movie, and see what Dawlish’s future is all about.
