Teignbridge council’s Old Forde House: Teignbridge has released its councillors’ allowances for 2010/2011

Teignbridge has published its councillors’ allowances for last term (that’s 2010/2011).

The basic allowance is £5,231.04 with special responsibility payments and travel and subsistence allowances on top of that. All in, the cost of democracy in the district was £370,116.62.

One thing that has left us scratching our head has been why poor old Cllr Falcao has been charged 15p for this travel and subsistence.

(Check out the PDF of Teignbirdge District Council’s Members’ Allowances – you can get the allowances from 2004/2005 from the Teignbridge Council website)

It’s part of a statutory requirement of give publicity to payments to members, so more notice of allowances should be around soon.

If you’re not in the Teignbridge environs, check out your own council’s members’ allowances.
