I often say proudly that I was indeed into old school hip-hop before it became part of music’s mainstream. This embarrassingly proves it.

Mike Jackson was host of the Power 9 at 9 countdown on WUSL Power 99 FM in Philadelphia in the mid 1980s. Every weeknight, he hosted a segment called the “Rap Attack,” where people called up to bust out a few rhymes, or, do the beat box, as you’ll hear me do. I was about 11 or 12 at the time.
