Occult of Personality

Visionary, author, and lecturer Paul Weston joins us from Glastonbury, UK in podcast episode 106 to discuss his book, Aleister Crowley and the Aeon of Horus.

Paul begins the interview by describing his experience in writing all three of his books over the course of a decade, the other two being Avalonian Aeon and Mysterium Artorius, from the perspective of an insider, as well as a researcher, in the traditions represented in his works.

We spend considerable time discussing Aleister Crowley, including Paul’s analysis of Liber AL vel Legis, The Book of the Law, and the ensuing turmoil and technology of the twentieth century and beyond.

Next Paul explains the historical connections between German Ariosophists and Nazi occultism tracing a clear lineage of racist philosophy. Weston’s analysis provides a more historically accurate magickal lens through which to view Nazi Germany’s use of archetypes and symbols to inflame violence. British occultists own use of ancient archetypes and symbols to counter this threat is well documented by Weston.

Paul’s writing and analysis is from the perspective of one that has learned the inner meanings of the teachings of the subjects of his study through experience. He shares his personal thoughts, wisdom, and opinions, weaving a magickal tapestry of history and culture.
