Music On The Couch

Terry Hanck & 2 Couch Kid New Music Segments Liz Mandeville & Kirby Sewell

October 06, 2014

Terry Hanck fell in love with California in the early 60's and also found his love of music there. He was performing in Northern CA when he was asked to join Elvin Bishop's Band.  It took 3 requests, but finally in 1976 he did and spent the next 10 years touring the world and performing with Elvin.

He began his own band in 1987 and continued to build his reputation as the finest Sax man in the blues, if not all musical genres. In 2010 he met Chris "The Kid" Andersen on the LRBC and brought him to America...for this alone Terry should be thanked. He has has been nominated Best Instrumentalist Saxophone in the BMAs twice, winning once and has won numerous other awards.

Terry's latest album is entitled Gotta Bring It On Home To You, and he will join me to talk about his wonderful career and what is next on his plate.

It is Chefjimi and Leslie's Anniversary so he will not be joining us this evening, but might be sneaking in a call next week.

We will have TWO Couch Kid New Music Segments to celebrate!

First, Liz Mandeville returns with her new album, Heart 'O' Chicago and we will talk about what she has been doing since she last sat here in August of 2012, and since I last saw her in Clarksdale this past spring.

Then Kirby Sewell returns with his new album, which dropped this past week.  entitled Girl With A New Tattoo it is a sure fire winner nd I am excited to speak with Kirby about all that has happened in his life and career since he took his Seat On the Couch back in July of 2012.
