Tim Williams, Georgia Flood, Eddie Cotton & NEW MUSIC Mary Davies w/ Sam Andrews - Mar 11,2014

March 10, 2014

Tim Williams is a blues-based singer / songwriter / multi - instrumentalist. He is a 40 year veteran of the 'Roots' music scene in North America, roots which stretch back to the coffee-house scene of his native California in the mid 60's. He is also the 2014 IBC Winner in the Solo/Duo Category and he will join me to talk about his journey from the coffee houses of the 60's to the stage at the Orpheum in January while listening to tunes from Blue Highway. The Georgia Flood is Brooks Mason & Lane Kelly and their sound is that of a 60's style Blues-based Rock band similar to Cream, The Black Keys, Hendrix, and Blind Faith. Their vintage style and tone harkens to the day of Woodstock, the Fillmore's East and West, and the Monterey Pop Festival. We'll talk about their self-titled debut album and where they are headed. Eddie Cotton, Jr. is an electric blues guitarist from Clinton, Mississippi. A minister's son, Eddie Cotton Jr. grew up singing and playing gospel music at church and playing the music of blues legends like B.B. King at home. His new album, Here I Come is a collection of 10 originals. I will chat with Eddie about his life and album. Mary Bridget Davies is a 'Couch Kid' and is now appearing on Broadway in A Night With Janis and recently worked with original Big Brother member, Sam Andrews, on a new album, Coast to Coast (on a Piece of Toast) Mary & Sam join me to talk about their long friendship, working together, the new album and Mary's fabulous run on Broadway.
