Music On The Couch

Jonn Richardson, Howlin Brothers, Charlie Musselwhite NEW MUSIC Chinua Hawk - Dec 17,2013

December 16, 2013

Jonn del Toro Richardson joined me with Sean Carney to talk about thier new album about a month ago. Tonight he takes his seat alone and he and I will trace his history; from not playing guitar until later in life, his continuing journey with Diunna Greenleaf, his partnering with Sean Carney and everything else that has brought him to this point in his career. The Howlin' Brothers are Ben Plasse on upright bass, banjo, vocals; Ian Craft on fiddle, banjo, vocals and Jared Green on guitar, harmonica, vocals and they are beginning to get more and more attention every day. Thier debut album, Howlin' is gaining attention and includes a guest appearance by Warren Haynes. I will chat with the gents and we will learn more about them. Charlie Musselwhite needs little introduction. He is a true icon in the blues world. From growing up in Memphis, TN to the move to Chicago and then to San Francisco, Charlie has been a dominant figure in the blues world for decades and I am honored and a bit humbled that he will be joining me on this show. We will talk about his life and also play music from the brand new album, Juke Joint Chapel. Chinua Hawk originally Sat On The Couch back in March of 2011. Tonight he comes back with a brand new Christmas album entitled Waiting On Christmas and we will chat with Chinua to catch up with his career and play music from the album.
