....What started as a simple tribute to remember the folks from that band that perished in 1977 and in the years following the crash has grown into an event to honor more than them but all the freebirds (deceased Members) of quite a few Southern Rock bands including those who cut their teeth and were spawned in the Jacksonville and surrounding areas.. We have members families involved as guests and performers from The Van Zant families as well as Leon Wilkesons family, Greg and Duane Allmans Family, Blackfoot,Marshall Tucker and Molly Hatchett... This is rapidly growing into one of the biggest Southern Rock tributes in the Jacksonville area and as I said coincides with the 35th anniversary of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane crash.. Justin McCorkle (son of Marchall Tucker bands George McCorkle) along with Michael Sean Allman (Gregs son), and Robbie Morris (Ronnie Van Zants nephew) will be performing at 35 Tribute.
