The Blessing is very real. It was originally given to Adam and it is this that Adam lost. We see through the scripture narrative, that God has worked in every generation through The Blessing to ultimately restore it to humankind.
The blessing and the birthright
The birthright is emphasized in the Bible because it honored the rights or privileges of the family’s firstborn son. After the father died, or in the father’s absence, the firstborn son assumed the father’s authority and responsibilities.
Treasure within
The scriptures inform us that the gospel was first preached to Abraham (Galatian 3:6-8). Throughout the Hebrew Scriptures, the gospel unfolds until finally within the ministry of Jesus, the purpose of God is clearly proclaimed.
