The Internet brings all sorts of good things into our lives.  And, for the most part, our kids haven’t known anything but an Internet connected life!

Though we know the upsides to the Internet… I’m sure you’re all-too-aware of the downsides, as well.  I’m thinking about the issue of pornography available in abundance.  For a son or daughter who’s grown up with access to the web… searching for inappropriate pictures is easy and common.

This is a deep issue… and deserves attention on your part, Mom and Dad.  Perhaps start by having honest conversations with your kid.  Maybe put the computer in the living room instead of a child’s bedroom.

Whatever you do… take advantage of the benefits of the Internet… and don’t be blindsided by the problems it can create.
