In today�??s episode, you will be hearing projects created by students in my broadcasting classes in the 2008-2009 school year. This group was asked to name the podcast series for the year and they voted on the title �??Shapes�?�. I don�??t really know why except to say that it probably represented a protest vote of some kind. However, let me take a crack at making it relevant. I hope that through these student projects, and ones coming up in future episodes, people can understand a bit about what shapes the lives of students in our community and how students can impact and shape the world around them. That�??s what I feel is the real power behind podcasting in schools today, the ability to give students voice and remove some of the barriers between classroom learning and the �??real world�?� we are preparing students for. We will start with a music review provided by G-Dog, a community news item created by Whitney and then finish this episode with a interview between Valeriu, an exchange student from Molodova and Megan regarding movies. We�??ll see how this episode �??shapes�?� up. Enjoy.
