MotoGP headed off to the Twin Ring circuit at Motegi, Japan. After a blistering qualification where Jorge Lorenzo destroyed the prior track record and secured the pole, Dani Pedrosa showed the patience he’d exhibited earlier this season and followed Lorenzo for the first half of the race. Pedrosa chose his spot, took the lead and slowly began to grow a gap on Lorenzo. Casey Stoner returned to racing but it was obvious that he wasn’t back to his normal self. Cal Crutchlow and Alvero Bautista battled it out for the final spot on the podium but Crutchlow ran out of gas before the race concluded.
