I’ve been working on a crafty ebook for, oh, a hundred years, and am happy to report that it’s finally launched!

Woven Appliques!

This one’s called Weaving Un-Loomed, and it’s all about - you guessed it - alternative ways to weave. You don’t need any prior experience, or any special equipment. It’s a collection of five projects, which are pictured all over this post.

This was such a fun project to do, because I was able to make it exactly the kind of craft book I like best - lots of step-by-step photos, really detailed instructions, and diverse projects. It ended up being a far huger project than I’d thought, but what a great learning experience!

…And then, because it’s digital and I’m the boss of me, I also set it up iTunes-style, as my dear friend Rachel would call it. So each project is available as a separate tutorial, or you can get the whole ebook.

It’s really interesting, thinking about the ways a digital craft book can actually be more useful than a print one. I’ll always love real paper craft books, of course, but it’s also great to have the flexibility to print out just the pages I need, and keep them with the project-in-progress.

I don’t have to fumble to hold a craft book open on my lap, and if I spill glue on the pages, no worries - I can reprint them.

One of these days, I’ll do a podcast about the differences between print and digital craft-book-publishing.

Although, to help people conserve toner, I included a printer-friendly instruction sheet with each projects. So you can enjoy the colorful photo instructions on the screen, and then print a set of simple text instructions to carry with you for crafting.

I’m dying to know what you all think of this bad boy!
