Booked interviews Swallowing A Donkey’s Eye author Paul Tremblay! We did our review of his book a few episodes back, and he was nice enough to agree to come on and validate Robb’s love of Kurt Vonnegut, confirm our suspicions about “The Poop List”, and scoop us on what he’s up to these days.Paul also schooled us on the pronunciation of the publisher ChiZine. We have been saying “shy-zeen” forever. Apparently, it’s “cheezeen”. Who knew? We do. Now.

Oh, and I’d hate to forget to mention these couple other important facts about this episode: Booked. News does in fact kick off the episode. Because Skip sends us information that is timely, we couldn’t really put off airing it, but at the same time, we didn’t want to throw it right in the middle. So there you have it. Also, Livius had had a tooth pulled mere hours before recording, so he’s a brave soul. Reminds me of the time Brian Evenson came on to talk to us like the day after getting out of the hospital for some surgery or another. People will do anything to get on our show.

Thuglit’s back!

Next episode, we review Dare Me by Megan Abbott. Sean P Ferguson has been beating down our door to review it after liking it so much, and we’ve heard great things about Megan. We should have some more Skip Papersly, and should be able to announce some exciting interviews and reviews that we’ve got coming up as well. There’s a ton of great things coming up for Booked. (as always), so keep checking back!!
