1949 World Series Game 5 Part 1
Baseball Historian presents The 1949 World Series featured the New York Yankees and the Brooklyn Dodgers, with the Yankees winning in five games for their second defeat of the Dodgers in three years, and the 12th championship in team history. This victory would start a record run of five consecutive World Series championships by the Yankees.
History was made in the 9th inning of Game 5, when the Ebbets Field lights were turned on, making it the first World Series game finished under artificial lights. The first scheduled Series night game would not be held until 1971.

Please note: many of these broadcasts were originally preserved onto vinyl and are over 50 years old, so the audio quality does vary... but the historical significance & baseball action does not!
