Segment 1

  • Discussion that there are lots of people who seem to be knocking on death’s door right now.
  • Discussion about Nelson Mandela, who is in his 90s. He was recently hospitalized and released. Mandela is said to want the death rumors to stop now that he has been released from the hospital.
  • George H.W. Bush remains in the hospital since November 23rd. He spent some time in the intensive care, and people are speculating about his condition.
  • General Norman Schwarzkopf died. They call him a great American hero for his work in the first Gulf War.

  • Barack Obama will also probably go down as a great president for his advancement of the classist, globalist agenda he’s pushed around the world.
  • Discussion about people who are hailed as heroes.
  • Discussion about Black heroes. They are usually not living. Actually, the only Black leader who would be hailed as a hero is Nelson Mandela.
  • Discussion about Ronald Reagan’s hero status. It seemed to start after he died, or perhaps during the Clinton Administration.
  • Discussion about why Clinton will not have the same hero status as Reagan–his impeachment related to his sexual indiscretions.
  • Discussion about presidents’ sexual indiscretions.
  • There are talking points/buzz words attached to each president. Things like Lincoln freed the slaves. LBJ and civil rights. George Washington as the first president. FDR and “the new deal.”
  • These buzz words aren’t necessarily accurate.
  • Discussion about Jimmy Carter and how he was more intelligent that the other living presidents. We also think of solar panels that he installed on the White House and him being a peanut farmer. In addition, we also think of him being a diplomat.
  • George W. Bush makes us think of him being a war monger and the “terrorism” president after 9/11.
  • Discussion about whether we can name as many of the presidents in reverse order.
  • Bill Clinton makes us think of sex scandals, and how Lewinski went from a noun to a verb.
  • George HW Bush reminds us of, “read my lips, no new taxes,” “a thousand points of lights,” the first Gulf War.

  • Ronald Reagan reminds us of Reaganomics, Willie Horton, Iran Contra, his makeup, and the assassination attempt against him.

  • Gerald Ford wasn’t elected for Vice President or President, yet became president.
  • Richard Nixon reminds us of Watergate, the CIA and “I’m not a crook.”

  • LBJ reminds us of the nuke commercial, the Vietnam War, his role in civil rights, making the military industrial coplex a staple of the U.S> economy, Texas, what a political he was. His work on civil rights was more of a function of making the right political moves, rather than doing it because it was the right things to do. Disussion about “box 13,” which is a reference to cheating in an election.

  • JFK reminds us of suspicious marksmanship and his assassination, the Hollywood aspect of his presidency.
  • Discussion about the parallels between Obama and JFK.
  • Eisenhower makes us think of “I like IKE” commericals:

  • Truman reminds us of the Korean War. Mention of the movie “Truman.”
  • FDR reminds us of The Great Depression, polio being the cause of him being wheelchair bound, The New Deal, and serving four terms as president.
  • Herbert Hoover reminds us of the Hoover flag, and him being blamed for crashing the economy.
  • McKinley was a president who was assassinated. He was shot, but they couldn’t save him–he didn’t die immediately.
  • Discussion about President Lincoln not dying instantly after being shot. He was moved from the theater where he was shot and died later that night or early the next day.
  • Grover Cleveland served two terms as president, with Chester A. Arthur serving between his two terms.
  • Naming all of the other presidents of the United States.
  • Harrison died after a month as president, then Tyler became president.
  • Discussion of David Atchison being president for a day.

  • Knowing the presidents in order and knowing the time periods allow you to have little bookmarks in history. It seems easy to talk about presidents during our lifetime, but it requires significant study to understand historical events before our lifetimes.
  • Discussion about what becomes the historical record, and why it is important for us to fight inaccuracies now–these things will become historical record of the future regardless of their accuracy.
