Paul Tei is a multidisciplinary artist who received his MFA in directing from the prestigious Theatre School at De Paul University, founded as The Goodman School of Drama in 1925 in Chicago. To be safe and create art is a lie. There should be no separation from the art, the artist, the action on stage and spectator. Theatre is a dialogue of deconstruction and within it's limitlessness lies the key to a wide spectrum of illuminations. As the Artistic Director/founder of The Mad Cat Theatre Company, Paul directed the company's productions of: GERALD FORD SUPERFREAK! (CO-AUTHOR), MIXTAPE 2: UMMAGUMMA FORZA ZUMA (CO-AUTHOR) BLOW ME, CHARMING ACTS OF MISERY, CAT LADY, THE HAMLET DOG & PONY SHOW (CO-AUTHOR), MACBETH & THE MONSTER, SO MY GRANDMOTHER DIED, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH (AUTHOR), MIXTAPE (CO-AUTHOR), SOME GIRL(S), ANIMALS & PLANTS, MR. MARMALADE, TERMINAL BAGGAGE (CO-AUTHOR), ARTFUL DODGERS (AUTHOR), BETTY'S SUMMER VACATION, TREMBLING HANDS, FELL IN LOVE WITH A GIRL, COPE (AUTHOR), HERE IN MY CAR (CO-AUTHOR), SHEPHERD'S PIE (CO-AUTHOR), HELLUVA HALLOWEEN (CO-AUTHOR). He has directed work outside the company seen in New York BUMP at The Henry Street Settlement, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New Hampshire, Vermont, Manchester, UK and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for GOING GREEN THE WONG WAY. Some of Paul's South Florida credits include: DEALER'S CHOICE at The Mosaic Theatre, 4:48 PSYCHOSIS at The Naked Stage and MACBETH, HAMLET, & TIMON OF ATHENS for GableStage. Paul received his BA in Theatre from Barry University. As a member of SAG/AFTRA Paul has been on several TV shows including: American Horror Story, Franklin & Bash, CSI MIAMI, Disney's Zeke & Luther and as Barry the money launderer on Burn Notice.
