Survey: Men Willing to Take ED Meds From Unknown Sources

March 06, 2014

A new study shows men are willing to take ED medications from unknown sources to avoid talking about the condition.

A new survey shows just how embarrassing erectile dysfunction can be. A UK medical site conducted a survey of more than one thousand men, asking if they would take an impotence treatment from an unknown source. According to the results, 26 percent of men said yes.

Why are men willing to get treatment from an unknown source?

The survey tackled this question too. Here are the top three reasons why men are willing to take the risk:

  • To avoid the embarrassment of seeking medical help
  • It’s cheaper than paying for prescription drugs
  • To avoid talking about the problem with a partner

Where are men getting these drugs from?

According to the survey, 60 percent of men said they took ‘medication’ from a friend. About 40 percent found ‘medication’ online through what they called ‘less than reputable sources.’ Another 12 percent took medication from a friend’s home without telling them.

What does this survey show?

While the topic of erectile dysfunction seems more common to talk about, the survey shows our society still has a long way to go. Many men struggle to talk about any kind of sexual problems. Saying it out loud not only confirms there is a problem, but feelings of inadequacy also bubble up to the surface.

What dangers should men be aware of?

If you’re ordering medication from a rouge medical site, you could be endangering your health. Experts have tested some of these medications. Sites claim to sell real Viagra, but when tested experts found harmful ingredients like dry wall, plaster, and blue printer ink.

Don’t be scared to talk with your doctor. ED is a valid medical condition.

How can a man avoid embarrassment?

At AccessRx.com, we have trained medical staff that can issue a prescription for medications like Viagra or Cialis if you meet certain medical criteria. You’ll have to fill out a medical questionnaire, but the process is less embarrassing than talking face-to-face with a doctor. That said, this consultation does not replace a visit to your real doctor, so we encourage you to follow up with your regular physician.

With a prescription, you can order name brand, FDA approved medication from our site.
