A Look at Shows You Should Rewatch

February 03, 2014

Last week marked the 20th anniversary of the sci-fi series Babylon 5. And as fate would have it, the Illustrious One was watching the series through for completely unrelated reasons.

This got us to thinking: There are many sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and super hero shows we watched over our years. Many of them were crap. But some, due to their theming, storytelling, and general awesomeness, should be watched again. So we made a list, ran through it, then tried out a few fun tangents in the middle. In the end, fire up your Neflix, Hulu, or other legal means of watching, or bit-torrent client if the studios are being dicks, and start checking this shit out.

One note on the list: We did rule out anything Star Trek, because if you’re listening to us, you have probably, at some point, watched most or all of the 3 seasons of TOS, 7 seasons of TNG, 7 seasons of DS9, 7 seasons of Voyager, and the 4 seasons of Enterprise. Oh, and lets not forget the dozen movies (6 with the original cast, 4 with the TNG cast, and the 2 int the Abramsverse). Do we really need to tell you to go back and watch all that?

Also, fuck Seaquest.

AND NOW, THE NEWS:

After the Affleck bomb, and other casting decisions that didn’t cause projectile vomiting, Jesse Eisenberg has now been cast as Lex Luthor in the upcoming Superman-Batman movie. Also, Jeremy Irons steps into the shoes of Batman’s loyal butler Alfred. And we found this out after a rumor (unconfirmed) surfaced that Affleck might be getting the boot from the Bat-shoes.

TODAY’S TOPIC: SHOWS YOU SHOULD REWATCH
  1. 1. The Illustrious One starts off singing the praises of
Babylon 5 (get torrenting), while the PseudoKiwi rides the quirky multiverse of Sliders (available on Netflix (5 seasons) and Hulu plus (3 seasons)) ….

  1. 2. We get all Joss Whedon on your asses. Patrick geeks out on the deliciousness of
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, while Lars finds his Whedon fix with the few episodes of Firefly (both available on Netflix and Hulu Plus)….

  1. 3. The Peseudokiwi goes really old school with
Space: 1999 (and yes, you probably need the link for this one) while the Illustrious One gets animated with Batman: The Animated Series (both worth creatively acquiring)….

Also, the Illustrious One mentioned a video detailing everything wrong with the worse-than-Affleck’s-Daredevil debacle called Batman and Robin (which no one should watch ever). Here it is:
